ManpowerGroup Partnership Aims
to Help Boost Vietnamese Economy
The goals of a new three-year partnership between ManpowerGroup and Vietnam’s Ministry of Labour, Invalids, and
Social Affairs are to continue developing
the local labor market, ensure competitiveness in the business environment, and
respond to the training needs of Vietnam’s work force.
“Vietnam is a country
with enormous potential and
possesses a work force
that is industrious and eager
to improve.”
—David Arkless, ManpowerGroup
ManpowerGroup announced the partnership in late December.
“Vietnam is a country with enormous
potential and possesses a work force that
is industrious and eager to improve,”
said David Arkless, ManpowerGroup
president of corporate and government
affairs, in a release. “Over the next three
years, ManpowerGroup will continue to
leverage its unrivalled suite of solutions—
including skills assessment and job train-
ing—to address skills shortages, help the
country achieve its growth potential, and
make even greater strides in the future.”
The new partnership builds on an
initial memorandum of understand-
ing signed by ManpowerGroup and
MOLISA in November 2008. Three
years later, ManpowerGroup released a
research paper, “Building a High-Skilled
Economy: The New Vietnam,” that pro-
vides recommendations about how Viet-
namese businesses can collaborate more
effectively with the country’s education
system to improve career development
programs and address skills shortages in
the work force.
