DAY 2—WEDNESDAY, OCT. 10
It’s 8 a.m. and you’re ready
for the day ahead—as well as
some coffee. After enjoying the
continental breakfast, you stop by the ASA Informa-
tion Desk to inquire about the Section Forums. You
confirm that it’s free for members to join any of
ASA’s six sections—each representing an industry
sector. Your company is excited about getting more
involved in ASA sections and attending the Section
Forums is a great start.
N’T WANT TO MISS
AKER JIM COLLINS
The well-fed and caffeinated Staffing World crowd pours
into the ballroom as the Second General Session gets
underway. Keynote speaker Jim Collins is known the
world over for his bestselling books and business-based research, and you’re eager to hear more about
what he lays out in his new book, Great by Choice.
It is indeed an unbelievably informative and motivating presentation—
full of ideas and strategies. And by the sound of the applause, you’re
sure you’ll be in good company as you make your way to the ASA
Pavilion in the expo hall. There you purchase a copy of Great by
Choice and have it signed by its impressive author.
Before you leave the expo hall, you enjoy a complimentary
cold soda and catch up with an old friend.
It’s 11:45 a.m. and you make your way to your first workshop.
With so many valuable workshops going on at once, it’s a good thing
you have several team members from your firm in attendance.
Great workshop. The speakers were engaging, attendees had great
questions,—and now you’re hungry. In the expo hall, you grab a hot
meal and a cold beverage and head to the Networking Café where
the friend you are meeting is sitting at table. He’s mapping out his
expo hall shopping in the on-site Final Program.
These targeted, small-group discussions are
fast-paced and infinitely helpful because you get
to hear from so many peers and subject matter
experts in three 30-minute sessions.
As you expected, the Knowledge Network goes by very
quickly, as do the Section Forums that follow. You’re
impressed by the quality of the information and
make some valuable connections.
Happy Hour in the Expo Hall is
the perfect way to start winding
down after an intense day of learning.
You stop by the ASA Pavilion, where
you enter for a chance to win an
iPad as well as engage with ASA
board members and staff.
Soon, you head to your suite
to make phone calls, and get
ready for dinner—another
sure-to-be delightful meal,
but this time at the more casual
Otto Enoteca Pizzeria—located on the
Venetian’s iconic Piazza San Marco.
