with each staff member on a daily basis,
we work together to reach goals and
understand how to navigate through challenges. We share our recruiting activities, and I offer recommendations and

has been demonstrated. Additionally, we
take advantage of the ASA and New York
Staffing Association webinars, seminars,
magazines, and staffing news updates.
Recently, two of our recruiters obtained
CSC® certifications, which not only
rewarded them professionally and personally, but also our entire organization.
A new program was recently launched
in our firm that allows candidates to take
a free Infection Control online course.
Our firm picks up the tab for the course,
creating a more qualified candidate with
an enhanced skill set and additional
certificate. It’s a win-win program and we
plan to continue it.

Program, individuals aspiring to a
management position are provided with
the necessary information, resources,
and materials to successfully lead initiatives. Our Manager’s Tool Kit provides
leaders with tools to address specific tasks
or conversations, and coach employees
on new procedures and initiatives. Other
tools are provided to leaders to develop
leadership skills and best practices.

Before any of our candidates go out to a
client for an interview or to a job site, our
recruiters counsel them on their resume and
approach to doing an interview, like which
questions to ask and what not to ask on the
first interview, what the appropriate attire
is, etc. We give candidates a full description
of the client’s company and culture, and
review these to make sure that it’s a good fit
for both the applicant and the client.
Before we promote internally, the candidate does a job shadow, for one to two
weeks, with the individual in the position
that we’re considering promoting him or her
to. JFC Staffing also invests a lot of time and
effort in management training. We’ve hired
an outside consultant who comes in once a
month and does ongoing management training with our team. We have internal training programs and make use of ASA webinars
and certification to train staff.
Development of staff is critical at JFC.
Everyone can learn; even after being in the
business as long as I have, I still always learn
something at ASA events. JFC was one of
the first firms to open a computer training lab to provide technology job training
to our employees and candidates. But as an
