ASA Introduces Employee Safety Best Practices
Table of Contents
Promoting and ensuring employee safety and well-being is the responsibility
of every staffing firm—employee satisfaction, productivity, collaboration, recruitment,
and retention all increase dramatically when
employers promote and ensure safe and
healthy work environments. To help ASA
members protect their workers, the association has published employee safety best practices for nurse staffing firms; industrial staffing
firms; and firms specializing in the placement
of office–clerical, professional–managerial,
and technical–information technology temporary and contract workers.
Drafted under the auspices of the ASA
employee safety committee, the best prac-
tices pertain to staffing firms’ general opera-
tions and management of workplace incidents;
internal and temporary employees; and selec-
tion of and interaction with clients, secondary
suppliers, vendor management systems, and
managed service providers. The best practices
are designed to help staffing firms establish
a culture of safety in all work environments,
reduce workplace incidents, and promptly and
effectively address workplace incidents when
they occur.
